From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
